Question

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sitting in the driveway at idle working on the stereo and saw the oil pressure drop to zero and will not come up.

How do I test to see if it is the transducer, the gage, or if the oil really went to 0 before my eyes. I did not get the low oil horn but it seems to run alittle rough. 86 na

thanks.

Verify with a mechanical gauge. Chances are its the gauge or the sensor, transducer if you want..

the senders go bad all the time. The pressure sender is just below the oil filter. Pull the plug off the sender, clean it a bit and check it. The oil pumps on fc's are very very stout, the senders fail all the time.

if a mechanical gauge does show it as very low, it could be the front cover o-ring. Thats a relatively common failure on fc's.

Check that plug, it falls off on mine every so often, especially when changing the plugs. I guess it really gets knocked off then, but even so........

I had that same problem one time i was driving it. Does the engine get really hot when you are driving it around? If not it might just be the grounds on the sensor. That was what my problem was.

so what does it mean when it runs hot (with low or no oil pressure)?
