I got a new pan gasket from Mazdatrix along with a few others for putting my turbo back on after the porting operation I just finished. I want to change it now since my car is up on jackstands and there seems to be a good bit of leakage around the pan. Other than removing a shitload of little bolts and the motor mount, is there anything I might run into that will be a problem? Is it hard to remove the motor mount?

the way we did it on my friends car jacked up on the exhaust manifold to get enough clearance to to get to all the bolts and remove the pan... besides that you have the right idea !

do some of the secind gens only have a oil pan gasket or no gasket?, it says something in my haynes manual about it, if mine doesnt wold the gasket be better than the gasket maker/sealer?

The Mazda shop manual says you should use a bead of sealant even with the gasket. I don't like the idea of just using the sealant, but I suppose it might work. we used just sealant because that is all we had. it is my friends only car.had no choice. it is holding fine though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

the factory only uses sealer, i dunno why they bother to sell the gasket.

use plenty of silicon, and make sure you silicon the motor mount bolts and stuff

A product like Perfect Seal would be better on those bolts then silocone.

Silocone-mightycon <~~~ I know thats not how its spelled, one of our spanish speaking members can help out, I spelled it like it sounds, lol



But for real, Perfect Seal is meant to go on bolt threds, it would be a better sealing thing for the bolts
