there are quite a few local places. hot start problem doesn't necessarily mean rebuild

First of all, DO NOT go to Crystal Mazda for anything other than parts. I was very disappointed. Do not go to Maxon Mazda in Union (although they have an excellent rotary technician who has owned RX-7s and knows them well) - customer service in the service department (from management on down) is horrible. And do NOT go to the Mazda dealer in Maplewood. I have had very good luck with Sansone Mazda in Avanel. However, there just isn't much around here. I would very much recommend you go to KDRotary for significant issues - not in New Jersey, in Nazareth, PA, but they are, in the opinions of many, the best rotary shop in the east.

let me put it this way. i spent about $800 @ kdr to fix my 89 GTU.... and it still didn't run correctly. 6 ports not working, won't idle correctly. $20 and 20 mins at JR's car had NEVER ran as good. he has worked on my FD, old GTU and old T2... simply put he is the man. the most honest and best rotary mechanic and i have ever dealt with. there is nobody else i feel more comfortable leaving the car with. i have atleast talked to just about rotary mechanic in the tristate... anyway enough about him

i have his # and all that if anyone wants
