Nitrous
Okay last night at the Drags I spoke to a fellow Rotorhead (REPU) Street Ported, 48mm Weber running 15's..... Anyway he said with the Rotary Engine you have to watch it when using Nitrous. He said the 2mm APEX seals won't take more than a 50 HP shot.
Anyone heard anything like this? That is the first I had heard.... including from NOS but I realize they may not know the specifics of the Rotary engine.
I am running a 70 HP shot (WET System) Dual Foggers.
I saw a Honda Civic blow a NOS bottle last night (which was pretty cool) He bailed out of the car so fast... which his entire bottle bled free. It was ice white when it was finally empty.

A wet system is a little safer than the dry, but the bottom line is the 2mm seals. They are three piece steel (stock) and werent designed for any kind of high hp modification, especially not an instantanious blast of cold a/f mixture. Obviously they will continue to do their job, but their life expectancy will be cut short considerably and when they go your rotor housings will be ruined: $800 bones down the drain. Not to mention damage done to the side plates. 3mm seals are some what stronger but the problem still remains, short life expectancy, destroyed rotor housings. I would imagine the turbo seals MIGHT be better/stronger but I cannot say for sure as I have zero experience w/ them (turbo). Enter 3mm ceramic seals. As i said before Ianietti seals I believe are for turbo applications but Ive never had a turbo engine. I will run a 100+ NOS set-up(wet system)after i break in my (n/a) engine and see what comes of it. I fully expect the engine to pop way before its time but im curious as to the Ianietti seals' performance under extreme stress.
