Well I might be buying a 10AE Turbo II. If I am correct since it is an '88 (which confused me because I thought the first RX-7 was made in 1979), it is an S4. What are the major differences between the motors to give the HP and torque increase? What are some things to know when buying?

the s5 t2's run higher boost and i believe the compression is different. and a couple little things engine wise. (EGR etc)

s4 = 86-88

s5 = 89-91

s5 advantages= higher compression lighter rotors better irons thicker castings around dowels divided exhaust manifold high speed turbine wheel bigger wastegate ecu boost control better intake manifold bigger secondary runners better computer uses hot wire not air flow meter uses dynamic balancer in manual gearbox nicer dash gauges, the list goes on they are all minor changes and there are more.

s4 are still good cars.
