When I had half the header done (it was clamped to the cat and the O2 sensor was just placed on the bung) I pulled it out of the garaged and just slammed the gas, it drove fine then, had a lot of power and such...maybe that blew the line off...but I dont see what would cause all the driving and stalling problems.

A vacuum leak will certainly cause that on FC's. The MAF meters the air coming into the engine, and the computer determines how much fuel is needed based on the airflow. A vacuum leak is basically unmetered air getting into the engine, so the ecu isnt adding enough fuel. Lean mixtures result in misfires, stumbling, and stalling at low rpm. And yes, one vacuum line is enough to make the car stall when you let off the gas and let the engine fall to idle.

Seems it was the vaccuum line, and the adjustment on the idle. He wants to work on it more tomorrow...but I haven't had a car in a month! Tinkering can wait! I wanna drive!

FYI the flooding procedure can very from person to person so ill throw what the guy who rebuilt my engine said and that is pull both EGI fuses (if its a s4 86-88) WOT (wide open throttle) for 10 seconds cranking 3 times plug fuses back in and crank with WOT till it starts its worked everytime and i have had to walk over to the guy working on my car (alignment or electrical) and teach him how to do it or do it myself and make him look stupid

...or you can just warm the car up to operating temperatures to avoid that from happening in the first place.. I used to **** my neighbors off when I would warm up my FC just to go park it outside early on sunday mornings.. I miss my vert..

By the way, welcome to nopistons.com.

well i doubt a mechanic would let a customers car warm up just to move it 10 feet or so and to them time is money
