After having my car run like hell, die, shoot flames out of the middle of the exhaust, and finally catch fire I decided the problem was a clogged cat. The new exhaust went up today. RB cat replacement pipe w/presilencer to a dual N1 catback (thanks 1987rx7guy, it arrived and bolted right up). Changed the oil and O2 sensor while I had it up and apart.

Started it up - it runs like ****. Sounds great. runs horrible. the idle is uneven and between the loping chugs the lights dim and the entire idiot cluster kicks on and off. ran it up and down the street, off idle it runs like ****, too. White smoke everywhere. looks like I seafoamed the 6.0 in my truck all over again.

So.

I've still got the airpump on there. Yes, it's an S4 and I know I can take it off. Was planning on doing that tomorrow. But I don't think having the airpump going on an opened up exhaust would cause these problems, or am I missing something?

Before I ordered the exhaust i checked the compression, mid 90s front and rear. I'm checking it again in the morning when it's daylight and I can see. I'm also checking to make sure I didn't pull any vacuum hoses loose while fighting with the O2 sensor.

Anybody have any other ideas? It was running great prior to the cat clogging - no smoke, smooth idle.

thank in advance...

Thats pretty weird man, I mean, having too free flowing shouldnt cause any issues with idles and stuff. But being clogged, I dont know. Thats just odd, Um. If your lights are dying / dimming at idle and your running like **** then check your terminals, alternator, not that its related to your issue, but I had to take in my battery and alternator for a test because I was having similar electrical issues. Check your grounds, and I dunno..good luck with that..

If your S4 dick with your EGR, I dunno..

Weird is right. MAF flap was stuck open. Pulled it, dumped a can of electroincs cleaner in it - still sticks. Looks like I need a new one, unless anyone has any ideas on how to make it stay un-stuck.

Is it for a TII or an N/A? I'm assuming there's a difference between the two - I'm N/A.
