I think its a green wire up by the clutch master cylinder, that is the auxilary tach read out.

inside the engine bay or under the dash?

i couldnt find it in the engine bay... so the Neg. terminal on the trailing coil would not give an RPM read out? my coil is modified to work with the FD Power FC the way Banzia did it. could that effect it? (two igniters mounted together, no real work to the coils)

I have my shift light hooked up to the neg. wire on the trailing coil and it works just fine. The ignition system wiring is stock.
