hey i need someone to show me a pic of the acv valve...is it common for it to be removed....cuz the previous owner has already had the ac taken out and prolly some other things that i dont know about.... thanx

 

Is that the thing that controls the idle?

 

yea im pretty sure but i think its an emissions part that can removed...but i wanted to be sure i still had it

 

since it does stand for air control valve

 

It mainly depends on what year your car is... Example. If you have an 89+ you will have to retain the original airpump and ACV (air control valve)



ON 86-88 1/2 cars it can be removed once you have taken off your air pump and removed your catalytic converters.

went there but i dont really recognize it...prolly cuz its sooo new and not lookin like mine....since i cant find it there can ne one tell me where it would be....or maybe show an engine pic and point to it

Your ACV should be right behind the BAC valve. Its not hard to miss you might want to go to the FC3S website and look at the picture that will help you recognize it. Sorry I dont have a picture, but good luck with your car.

 

I'm sorry to correct you bruce, but the Air control Valve is NOT located near the BAC valve. The BAC is connected to the Intake plenum ... the air control valve is bolted to the Lower Intake manifold.. It rests alittle above your 5th and 6th port acctuator plungers... you really can't miss it. Look near your exhaust manifold. See those two plungers sitting at an angle? Look right in the middle of that. that is your ACV.
