Howdy everyone,

Big shout out from down under for help with a 1986 series 4 rx7 I bought about a month ago, engine is a series 5 13BT with extended port / TMIC and was installed approx a year ago, got it serviced about 3 weeks ago all was good. lately has been running rough, had trouble firing her up.. other nite she started up and engine sounded like it has a couple of branches in there! i prayed it wasn;t my car but the one parked next to me but yesterday i found out it was unfortunately my car so any wayz the sound didn't go away i was quite far from my place so i took the risk of carefully driving her home. she was idling at 2000rpm and while i was cruising at about 50km/ph she back fired a bit, the gear stick started to vibrate and smoke started to flow from underneath the hood, it wasn't a hell of alot just enough for the car behind me to see... i pushed her to the side of the road and got her towed, she is now at the shop but was just wanting to see if i could get any opinions or a heads up on whats to come..

any advice would be extremely appreciated

Matt

Lawn mower sound and lots of vibration indicate catastrophic engine failure. Probably an apex seal went and ate the other 2 on that rotor. If the car could still move then the other rotor is probably fine.
