I put the t2 motor in my 7. To start it for the first time i put oil in plug holes and spun the motor by hand to oil seals. 2 days later i bought a new starter to start with. After several trys i finally got it to start but had to keep giving it gas to keep it runnin. Later on someone noticed a fuel leak. To fix this i had to pull the uim off to replace o-ring on the fuel rail put it all back togeather with new waterpump and now i can't get it to start. The battery is new and well above the craking amps needed, starter is like 2 weeks old. The only noise i can hear is a clicking noise that you hear when the battery is almost dead. The car dose spin over and givin enough effort will start but most of the time it turns over really slugish. Sorry so long jut want to get this car on the road

For some reason, your post sounds familiar.

How easy is it to turn the motor over by hand?

Assuming the engine isn't binding somehow, maybe one of your electrical connections to the starter isn't so good?
