Get your Haltec tuned, get your self some new plugs. and you should be fine.

Eddy we don't even have the o2 sensor hooked up. I'm getting like 120 miles to the tank of gas. This thing is really confusing me. I almost wish I hadn't installed the damn thing. I'm going to trailer it up to be tuned. I don't even want to drive it right now. ****, I tried starting her today and she wouldn't even start. I'm really confused right now. I just want my car to run right.

it should be great once it's tuned, you should be able to street tune it well enough to make it liveable, it sounds like the maps are really bad currently.



can you post them?

Unfortunately I can't because I don't have a laptop to down load them to and the upload them here. Do you really think this thing will still run, even after everything I said it is doing? You don't think its blown? Would you know of any reason why it could be blown(using the info I've given)?

nah it shouldnt be blown. a fouled plug and a blown motor sound the same, ive fouled the front rotor on the 20b tuning it several times

it had good consistent swooshes so it's probably fine, i think it's all in the tuning now. just be careful.



the haltech should be great, it just gives you alot of control, not much is done for you to make it very easy.... but you can use that control to get your engine performing better than it ever was on the stock ecu.

Thanks guys, this makes me feel more comfortable. I hope when I get it up there next week that it will run correctly. Then things should be better in my household. No more pissed off wife because I'm spending to much on an old car. She understands why I'm spending so much, but she doesn't like it.

For right now just concentrate on getting the car tuned and work from there. Take it one day at a time, it's worked for me. Good Luck.

yeah, dont worry the haltech takes a while to get right, especially if you've never done it before.

I've never done it before, but I'm not the one who is tunning it. The guy who did most of the initial tuning was Brian Cane. He knows his second gens, but we just didn't have enough time for him to get it all done correctly. Hopefully he can help Steve Kan finish it, if Steve needs help.
