Miata Gears?

I heard a while back that Miata gears can be used in an FC. I have an FC n/a



Explain this gearing situation to me. I do not understand. and by useing Miata gears, is there any performance/reliability gains? thanks guys. Markus

the miata has closer gear ratios, so its a better tranny for road racing.

the fb, fc na, and miata share similar trannies

they use an FC case and replace gears with that of a Miata. An anniversary edition Miata has a six-speed, should be impressive matched with a GTUs 4.30 diff...

THink you can fit the extra gears/synchros? Or are they smaller, or what? I was going to buy a GSL-SE tranny and do the gear swap..but miatas are easier to come by then those...any more info?

they do the swap with the regular 5 speed gears, the 6 speed tranny is totally different. the 1st gen (gsl-se only has a different overdrive, which you can swap, or keep the fc one) guts are greared wider, better for auto-x

Right, So I can use the GSL-SE 1-4th, and my(S4 GXL) 5th....but, like I said..Miatas are more popular for parts than 1st gen GSL-SE's...where can i get some more info on doing the miata gear swap?
