I have to set the backlash on my rear end. What is the easiest way to do it? WIll i need any special tools? I'm putting an 87 LSD in an open diff housing. I will be attaching the ring to my LSD and putting it in. I just need to know how hard it will be and what to do to set the backlash right? thanks.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the procedure is in the FSM.

You'll need a dial indicator with magnetic base, 7-8" micrometer, and a spanner wrench. I made my own wrenches for the NA and TII diffs but the measuring tools are non-negotiable. Get an FSM while you're at it.
