Hi guys, I'm having a problem, car is sputtering a little bit when i release the clutch in 2nd and 3rd gear, car starts like flooding nor wanting more fuel I checked the TPS and is adjusted, I haven't change the fuel filter tho but if that's not the solution what else should I consider? Also It's having alot of low end torque, i'm thinking of my actuators getting stuck beacuse it only happen sometimes and always with the engine warm for both problems.

Thank you

Enriquez

P.S. I own a 88 N/A GXL with Cone Air Filter, RB Header, RB presilencer, Rat Nest gone, A/C and PS gone also, although still have the BAC working.

Where are you getting pressure for your actuators?

From the split air pipe, I don't have the air pump don't need it anyway its an s4, and its connected to the presilencer.

same thing. u beat me to asking this question! my sputtering is pretty bad at 2000-2600 rpms. it almost sounds like it isnt gettin a good enough gas supply. and when u press on the throttle it either GOES or ur cruising and sometimes sputtering at certain areas of rpm. so its kind of jerky when u accelerate and slow down. could this be the actuators??? like would they be getting stuck or what. im almost thinkin its my fuel pump thats going or my injectors. please someone answer these Q's...i really want to solve this

P.S. the top end is really strong from like 4000 up but its the low end thats worrying me. im going to see if i can check the compression. i really hope this motor is not about to go

Maladjusted TPS will cause jumpy throttle, sputtering on partial throttle, and sometimes surging in the 1500 rpm area.

"split air pipe", thats the pipe from the acv to the main cat right? with out the air pump you may not have enough pressure in there to actuate the ports.

thanx ronin ill see if i can check it. i also dont have my split-air tube connected. the silicon hose that goes from the acv to the split-air tube is plugged. so could it being plugged also effect it in about the same way.

thanx again

Im sur theres a write up somewhere for the TPS in the forum. check the Faq section.

The S4 6 port gets its pressure from the pipe that feeds fresh air to the main cat (split air pipe?) if you disable or disconnect that you need to find another way to get pressure for the actuators.

If you have a non turbo 2nd gen, you have a 6 port 13b.
