i just bought and adapter and a went and got a cone spectra filter from auto zone and now i can spin the tires in the 1st with out having to dump or slip the clutch or anything;after 5k the break loose, its sooo awsome... and i'm having my paint job done soon just did some of the body work today... (sanding... and fiberglass fill) so i'll post pics after i got off of work today (bed bath and beyond ... LOL) but thank you for all of you guyz' help

Interesting . . thanks for posting this. I never knew if unshielded cone filters were any better than the stock snorkel box because my FC already had this mod when I bought it. And it would roast the tires a little too easily in first gear for my skill level; front wheel drive is all I have ever driven.



I do know, however, that just smoothing over the edges of the cone filter's adapter on the air flow meter makes an improvement in the midrange power and throttle response. Some adapters don't even match the afm's opening shape at all and need to be trimmed.

Its not. The peak hp might go up a hp or two, but you lose so much midrange from the sky high intake temps, and retarded timing that goes along with it. CAI is the only way to go.

I think a basic WAI would make more of a diff on a T2 vs NA.. that's probably why he felt it or his old filter was just that restricted

ya know i did notice that the old filter was SHOT!!!! so i could've just gained more HP then normal because it freed some origanal horse power...

i need to put a cone on my car i think its about time, where can i get the adapter and what size cone do i need???

You can buy a cheap adapter on Ebay. I bought one including a K@N filter for 49$ a while back.

autozone spectra comes in couple diff.. .colors and its 25 bucks plus the breather for you air pump (10 dolors)
