I need help trying to figure out why my car is dying. Here is what is happening. When I go to start my car when it has sat for over a couple of hours it just clicks at me. It is the same clicking sound that you get when the starter dies. But its not the starter though. I'll put a jump on the car and it'll slowly turn over and start. The car runs fine after that for a while. Until the AWS system system shuts off. When my idle is at 700 and I have the lights on the car's power fluctuates. The lights will flutter. When I am sitting at a stop light or am just stopped the car will want to die. The lights go dim and the volt meter will go down. I was testing it in my garage and the cad died. When i'm just driving around the volt meter is around 12. I checked the battery and it is good. I also checked the alternator with the car running and it was sending power to the battery. I'm thinking that is is something to do with a bad electrical connection. But i'm not sure what. I cleaned the battery terminals and everything is connected. I'm not sure where to start. I"m going to start looking at every postive because I know my main grounds are strong. So if you guys have any ideas on where to start looking that would be helpful. thanks

Battery could be weak, the alt could be shot, combination of both, but I would monkey around witht eh battery cables.

my t2 did this too, new battery, new s5 alt, and that helped but didnt fix it. i ended up replacing the alternator/battery cables in a 3 rotor swap, that did fix it, and it was fine when i put the 13b back into it. so id say look at the battery cables/fuse box

thanks, thats where i'm going to start looking. I'm hoping its something as simple as bad wires to the battery and not something else.

well i fixed it i guess. I cleaned the battery terminals and connectors. I also looked around my car for bad connections and broken wires. I found a wire near my transmission that was cut so I rewired it and it starts up again. So I hope I fixed it. Thanks fellas.
