The last like 5 or 6 times i have taken my car out it seems that when i go down the highway the steering is way off. At first it just seemed to pull to the right randomly...like it would get worse at some times or not. I thought it was the alignment but sometimes it would switch so then i thought maybe it was the wind or maybe a combo of the both. However, i have taken out my P/s pump and looped the lines so the real questions is, is it just the wind/alignment or has anyone had past experiences with loose steering when you take out the p/s and how do you fix it?

I've had mine roam to one side, then the other. I have manual steering. My alignment was just way off (after replacing all the suspension bushings). Got an alignment, and it goes straight now.

Sounds like your rack might have split. Using power rack as a manual is a bad idea.

might want to make sure that the rack is bolted tightly to the car, and the rack bushings are still good. some of the fwd cars the rack bushings fail and the rack moves side to side, its really weird when the steering wheel doesnt center in the same place everytime!

i have a couple new manual racks, they are factory mazda and more money than a rebuilt one, pm me if you're interested
