with a light flywheel I understand you have to get the counterweight from an auto...will any counterweight work? or does it have to balanced and undergo testing to determine whether or not it will counter weight? i guess what i am asking what exactly is involved in installing a light fly wheel?

You need the counterweight from the automatic assembly for your year of car.

1986-1988 Series 4 Counterweight

1989-1991 Series 5 Counterweight

Just stick within your series range and it will work.

The OEM unit has the counterweight built into it. The aftermarket ones bolt onto the counterweight with 6 bolts, just like the old style stuff.

The counterweight needs to match the rotor weights.

In general S4 rotors with an S4 counterweight, S5 rotors with an S5 counter weight.
