where is the best place to find it to power my boost controller? I just wanna set it and forget it and only look at the gauge.

to something in the dash, you could go to to the trouble of taking the radio out, or just start probing wires under the dash with your test light.

I assume you want something that's on only when the engine is running.

That would be the IG2 feed.

My favorite place to pick up IG2 is at the power window fuse.
