ok....first off its not that bad of a car....for all you rotary freaks that are bent on defending the rotary traditions...im not nocking.....but on to what is at hand....the car smokes for at least 15 seconds at the first start up of the day...i mean heavily....wind catches it....itll come right past ya.....then slightly after it lets off.....but that may just be something else... i have had some overheating issues due to that damn heater hose blowing up on me...and one time a belt blew and wrapped around the fan and the other belts...making it overheat....but thats neither here nor there.....my main concern (cuz im a budgeting freak with no money) is that im getting litterally 145-150 miles per tank of gas...i have noticed some time (smelling capability is not the best due to a bottle rocket war injury...hehe) a wiff of gas.....its not really colored smoke....its just smoke...not blue....not black not brown...just freakin smoke....smells kinda gasy....maybe too much gas....leaky injectors....bad lines maybe??....you guys have lots of ideas.....help a guy out here......

145-150 a tank and those symptoms... I say change the o2 sensor and check for any fuel leaks. I doubt there are any leaks, but just check to be safe.



A buddy of mine (ecko on the boards) was having the same problem. o2 sensor was bad. Its better now.... ALOT better on mileage.

 

yeah o2 sensor, maybe air anf fuel filters and plugs too.
