Thumbs up

I got my trany in yesterday, since the weather was good, and almost got everything back together today. It was so much ******* fun putting it in with no lift, or pit. I wish I would have digtal camra so I could show you guyz the rig I did on it. I'll try to make it short....

I put the trany lined up under the car, then ran some nilon string under the shifter part up thru the hole where the shifter is and tied it around a crowbar (it takes weight). Than I ran string thru the upper two bell housing bolt holes and put them around a 2x4. So there the trany hangs almost in place. I get under there and lift up and shove her in the hole, lil' back and forth motion....ahhh.... till the teeth line up.( Had guyz help lift by 2x4 and crowbarwhen i'm under there ) Once in bolt back mount up then cut the strings, bolt to housing, and hook **** up, plus I got the driveshaft back on now.

Oh and I had to take most exsaust off and heat shielding (don't wanna put either back on...)

Just got to do some fluid stuff in trany and I'm changing coolent and oil. Then I'm babing the car.

I change them by myself with a jackstand. After I get it lined up and mated to the engine I push up under the shifter, and put a jackstand under the shifter.

I like to use the jackstand to hold it in place while I bolt it to the engine because I like to do bench presses at the gym.

Sometimes if twisting the transmission back and forth doesn't get it to mate up then I'll push up and down. I get a break from the gym for about 2 weeks. So that's why I'm trying to get alot done. Working on the car alot can affect my lifting sometimes, since I like to lift as heavy as possible.

From the way vosko talks, you could bench your 91 coupe, at least the back. I had to move the trany back and forth side to side, to gt them dam teeth lined up to. Oh and do you work, or is "THE GYM" your work place?? :notify: :sigh:

Well, I haven't been doing much for a while, but I'm starting a new job in about a week. So I got my car running just in time.
