i have a k&n intake open filter setup in my car. I want to add a racing beat 3 inch exhaust (and an fcd of course), but all the extra air may cause a problem and blow my engine. has anyone tried anything like this, and what were ur results???

any other suggestions???

Sounds like me.

From what I've heard, the stock fuel system is good up to 10 psi, max. If you are lucky enough to boost near 10 psi, you'd better get a fuel computer and a fuel pump and some bigger injectors.

I freed up my exhaust, and put a cone on my intake, but I'm still just boosting 8 psi, and my A/F meter is pinned full rich at WOT.

Next step for me is a turbo rebuild and compressor upgrade.

I'll keep y'all posted.

P.S.: Make sure you've got a nice accurate boost gauge. Don't rely on the stocker, especially after you add the FCD.

yeah...

the problem is the racing beat exhaust will boost to about 9.5 to 10.5 on its own. Then when u combine it with the k&n intake, it may blow the motor. What type of fuel injectors should i be looking at, i was thinking of 720cc secondary.

look at my mods on the link in my signature. i have the racingbeat full 3" exhaust, and a cold air intake with a cone filter. i'm creep up to 9.5-10 psi at WOT near redline in 2nd gear.

i haven't had any problems thus far (cross fingers). i have an aftermarket boost gauge and a exhaust gas temp gauge to give me a rough idea on whether i'm running lean or not. i have never gone above 700 deg C on my EGT, so hopefully i'm okay

yeah... u just put that exhaust on... i saw ur post.

what type of cone filter do u have???

did u change ur injectors???

the main reason why i'm unsure about doing the exhaust w/the injectors is because i don't have a haltech or any other computer (just stock). so if its running rich, i'm kinda stuck then.

I was running 14 - 15 psi on my set up (mods in sig.), stock turbo too. I wouldn't recomend it, but the car ran good before a bad bearing killed my engine.
