injectors and spark... add to my 2nd gen?

even though i have just got my 88 fc with a 13b n/a..I feel the need..the need for SPEED! (I want turbo but still want to be able to drive the 7 I have..just zap it up a notch or two)..question what will happen if i put bigger injectors on my 13b and can you do anything with the ignition..( been seeing alot of boxes being added on.just exactly what is the safest route to go ..specifically injectors and crane hi 6(hope that is the gadget) ...I am already going to upgrade the exhaust and the intake systems..so that leaves the hot topic of SPARK. my exit to this posting is that i'm going to engine swap when I go turbo to save alot of headaches or even scoop up another 7!!!! Thanks guys if you answer this for me!

Well no point to upgrade injectors on an N/a for a while, just get ur existing ones cleaned, for ignition, well thats not mt specialty, someone else on here can help you with that.

The stock ignition is good for over 400HP. Larger injectors will cause you to lose HP. Get a fuel controller and you can gain some good numbers from leaning the system out. Do not tune this yourself without a wide band AFR gauge.



I do not consider a swap hardly much easier by any means then turboing a 6pt.



The only mods in moderate worth while IMO is a CAI, SAFC or the sort, Exhaust.

Quickest and cheapest HP gains for an N/A are first the exhaust. Get a cat back system designed for use in rotaries...Rotary exhaust is extremely hot and will quickly fry exhaust sustems for piston banger type cars.



Then pull out the stock intake air filter and filter box and replace it with a K&N cone filter and build some kind of heat shield box around it.



As for ignition, use recommended NGK plugs and upgrade to a good quality 8mm plug wire. I've used Magnecores and they seem to work great.



And, yes you don't need to replace the injectors. They will work fine for a lot of HP. Send them out and have them tested and cleaned.

It has been shown on the dyno that factory NGK wires put down the most HP numbers and are being used in over 500whp cars. These new wires are mostly hype marketing. Just look at the thick insulations excellent marketing gimmick.



^ It is not the exhaust that melts and all it is the packing inside the mufflers that must be SS to keep from burning out. I would recommend a full exhaust much more over just a cat back. If you only do a cat back you leave the cat and all the presilencers on the factory system and keeping the stock restrictive manifold and opting out of good headers.

appreciate everyone pitching in with info..these cars are like crack!!!gotta have it..please sir can I have some more!!!(horsepower that is!!) I live in Ontario,Canada...which translated is catalytic capital of Canada..emissions central...son of a ...you get the drift..gotta run legal..I will and do..so exhaust after the cat...racing beat you say?ok..I just did plugs and wires.. njk platinum and bosch 8.5...hummin good...somebody pop in with a link or info for an safc..what's req'd..read how to install and I CAN DO IT ..soldering and ****..what else?mentioned CAI..Crane hi-6? looked at it.. leaning towards it ..heard it's good ..pocket book friendly..so far its looking like about $1000 or so will get me what i want ..input...thanks..you guys rock!..keep it comin'!!

No need for ignition. SAFC can be found easaly at ebay.com if you have a S5 get a VSAFC. Install instructions can be found at 1300cc.com A CAI can be fabed up from the 93+ honda prelude full CAI.



To help pass emissions put some alcohal in your gas befor testing
