Does upgrading the iginition on an rx-7 really do anything? I heard that stock is hard to beat. I also heard that a nice upgrade is Jacobs Electronic's Rotary Pro Pak. Does anyone know if its worthwhile to a 88' gtu slightly modified.....intake,exhaust,pulleys,wires,airpump-a/c removal and weight reduction.

I really don't know that much but, I think that it can't hurt to have a cleaner more accurate ignition. My .2$ :dontgetit: I personaly plan to upgrade my ignition before I do my turbo upgrade along with bigger injectors. I feel that if the engine can get and use the fuel correctly I'm better of safe than sorry(detonating),not neccisarily that it will happen,

Well i was thinking about getting the Jacobs Rotary Master Pro. I wasn't looking for an amp or hotter spark, but more on time precise complete combustion. Rarely when i revv my car high( past 7 g) i can hear a miss or backfire after i lay off the accelerator. I figured maybe that its not getting all burn or the sparks aren't 100% on time. And i Figured that maybe this happens sometimes or all the time at a lot less amount. U can't always hear everything with mufflers. The Jacobs Claims that all their product will:

Elimate ALL

1.Misfires

2.Poor MPG

3.Erratic Idle

4.Sluggishness

5.Bogs

6.High & Low End Miss

7.Hard Cold & Hot Starts

8.Surging

9.Plug Fouling

10. Weak Low End Torque

11. Pinging

12.Bucking Off Idle & More

It does all that. That would definatley mean longer life of your engine. And a little more hp. I know its a little spendy $365 :frown: , This is why i posted this..........

We use MSDs on the SCCA ITS cars. Anything you can do to create a bigger or hotter spark consistently is a huge benefit. More air and fuel through balanced injectors, Etc plus a nice fat spark in the hole = more HP

Do u have msd coils, or just the amp on those SCCA cars? but then again those cars are really modified. I don't even have a turbo let alone 356 dollars to blow.
