I fixed the flooding problem but now my car is eating up EGI fuses left and right. I've gone through about 4 right now trying to fix stuff but nothing is working. The car will start up for about a second, then the fuse blows and the car dies. I checked the positive batter terminal and thats fine and changed batteries too and it blew fuses on both batteries. I have no clue what keeps causing this.

 

egi fuse isnt the ignition fuse.

A short is likely your problem. Well, the problem with your fuses anyway.....

Oh, i thought the ignition fuse was the EGI fuse. My bad. It's the EGI fuse. Anyways i was wondering if y'all had any general idea as to what it could be, i know its a real general question but everytime i think i fix something, BAM i blow another fuse and its starting to get really expensive. So what exactly is a short now? It may be a dumb question but i'm not completely sure as to what it is, so i know exacly what to look for.

 

EGI fuse has more to do with fuel than ignition

 

im guessing your fuel pump is shorting a ground somewhere.



thatd be my first guess unless you rewire your pump recently.

Is there anyway that i can check to see if there's still a short without blowing fuses? This is getting really expensive.

 

what did you rewire? undo what you did

 

I didn't rewire or touch anything. I added an FCD and i moved the fuel pump relay so my TID would fit but that was it. I took the FCD of and put the relay back to how it has been for the past few months and still popped a fuse.
