alright, bought a limited slip differential from a guy, and was wanting to know how to know for sure that it's an lsd. first time I posted this, someone told me to find something on it that said "lsd fluid only." I don't see that anywhere. There is a marking on the housing that says "M055 F." (I'm pretty sure it was "F", but I know the MO55 part it right) This is actually upside down on the housing. When turning the driveshaft input, both halfshaft inputs moved, and when holding one halfshaft input, I couldn't move the driveshaft input. When holding the driveshaft still, I tried to turn one of the halfshafts, expecting the other to move in the opposite diretion, but it would only wiggle a little, and I couldn't turn it at all (when slightly wiggling, the other wiggled in the opposite direction). Does this sound right? I want to know if I got shafted, before I do a pita installation.

Both of th the halfshafts should move in the same direction, to be an LSD.

it shouldn't be locked, right? I mean, one should slip a little, but am I just not strong enough to do that with my hands? I just want to make sure this things gonna do what I think it's gonna do

if it wasn't an lsd, would the halfshafts easlily spin in opposite directions with the driveshaft held in place?
