I was following one of my buddies and he was pullin away from me he said he was doing the speed limit so i want to find out who's is right.

at 3000 rpm it says im goin 70 mph what about you guys ?

in 5th gear right at 3000 i am doing 80mph

it depends on the rear end ratio. I think that a GTU sould be doing 3800@60mph (4.30 gear)



my vert blubs along at 2800 rpm at 55mph with a 3.90 rear, check the speedo cable for stretch/twist

 

i have an 86 sport and at 5th gear 3000 rpm im doing 80, 7000 in 4th im doing 120 though it takes a long time to wind out 4th to 7000

 

GTU are 4.10 standard tranny. Only GTUs are 4.30



Some NA trannys came with different fifth gear ratios.



If you don't have stock tire size, that will throw off the speedo too.

 

i think the speed/rpm for the rx-7's is pertty damn good. Nice powerband. like 2nd gear is so sweat 65 MPH at the end of second is sweat. and third goes to like 90 something. wish i was turbo
