I'll bring my snap on alternator/battery tester jammie, and we can check it out
I probably won't be able to go. I have to do a head gasket for my friend, fix the sink, change the oil in 2 cars, get 2 more ready to sell... [/quote]

What's a headgasket?

*insert obligatory bigtime bashing remark here*

I had something pretty similar happen on a dodge charger, alternator couldn't keep up with all the crap on the car and the fuel pump didn't get juice, as nasum.

Make sure you're battery hasn't become the black hole.

It was ok today, but eventually I'll test everything. I'm too lazy to do anything right now.

Just don't forgot. Power costs HP. A Higher wattage alternator will require more HP from your motor.

I found this out the hard way when I was into Car Audio. I put a High Output Alternator in my car and lost what felt like a TON of HP. I went back to the stock Alternator a few months later and it felt like a did a bunch of mods.

Unless you really need the high output. I would stick with the stock alternator.

Have you rewired your fuel pump? The stock wires would be 11 years old. Just a thought. Are you just using the OE alternator?

I know what you mean about lazy

As far as the alternator drawing more HP, there are a few of them that have almost no drag...but they DO cost.

funny you should say this, my battery died in my othe car last night, so on top of getting the RX-7 ready for the BBQ, I had to go to Sears and get a battery and put it in the Lexus, and they were out of gold! Oh well, I put a silver in it- I probably wont own it 100 months to use the warranty on the gold anyhow, lol.

Should have bought an Optima. They are the best damn battery out there. But they cost a lot of $. Mine was $100.
