i recently bought a 88 turbo 2 and i cant start it from the key ignition....i could only turn the key to "on" but i cant go any farther......when i bought it the took off the factory alarm and left a bunch of wires near the fuses......the only way i could start it is getting a wire directly from the starter to the battery so it would turn on....so far i changed the key ignition and it still won't start...does any one know whats going on?

i know this sounds stupid, but when your turning the key forward, jiggle the steering wheel back and forth...

a shot in the dark, but worth a try?

Not stupid advice at all, but usually that happens when you first stick the key in and it wont move, not even to the acc or on position.

yeah, thats usually how it is. I know a few times, i turned it to "on" and the radio and all came on, but I had to wiggle the wheel back and forth to get it to turn all the way..
