how the hell can't you use the stock clutch fan, that makes no sense at all?

is there really a difference in the size of an s4 and s5 rad???

there are some differences between the s4 and s5 rad. I have an s5 koy rad in my s4 also. I cant see the stock fan fitting with it. I have an e-fan hooked up to a switch.

I wonder if the benefits of the radiator will be offset by the inability to use the stock fan

curious to know too. it just seems kind of silly that they were not the same size radiators. is it thicker, wider, longer? what is it????

I used a taurus E-fan on my old setup with the stock s4 alternator, and had problems keeping the battery charged at all. Even after a 4 gauge ground wire from battery to transmission. Depending on how reliabable your stock wiring harness is you may/not have problems. But I would at least recomend upgrading to an S6 alternator at some point.

use the dual Nissan Altima fans. They out-flowed SPAL and every other major brand. Unless you care about buying brand name

If you are looking for every ounce of performance you can get - going to efans is the smart chouice.

You get about 20pounds of rotating mass off of the engine.

In my case (autocross) or even a drag racers case - you shut off the fans at the start line (assuming your engine isn't on the verge of overheating ( I am usuaaly about 170 at the line)) to reduce the alternater draw. And then turn the fans on when the run is over.

If your car is just a daily driver or cruising machine I would never bother to do the conversion.

However my twin 10" fans cool the rad MUCH better than the stock fan ever did

the koyo is a little wider and longer and the rad cap is in a different position then on the s4.
