if you have a buffing wheel, this method might also be a good option: link

it's from tom yang's ferrari restoration, where he polished up his colored lenses with a plastic polishing wheel, or something like that.

Aty the body shop, I have seen them buff up old lenses too.. They do it just like they buff the paint after it has cured.. just sand with like 1200 or 2000 grit, then put rubbing compound and use a buffing wheel..
