sounds to me like the conclusion is- extremely reliable if stock or mild modded, jack stand queen if wild modded. the rest is in between.

I believe that its mainly due to the advantages of the rotary engine.



Its all about proper maintenance. Keep up with it and check everything over whenever you do anything to it. It will never hurt to check.

rotary engine - turbo = runs forever

rotary engine + light boost = lasts for a while

rotary engine + 10lbs of boost or more = jackstand king(not queen)

Changing the fluids regularly is the most important thing I think. I flush and change the coolant once a year even though I only put 3k miles a year on it. Change all your filters regularly using Mazda OEM or good replacements. A good reliability mod is the modified oil pellet which will keep the oil flowing to the rotors on start up and at all times. IMO using premix instead of the stock oil metering system is a good reliability mod too.
