stock tach slows down @high rpms too, so 7500 on the tach is more like 6900rpms....

WHAT!?!?! The tach is off. I'm going to verify it with an aftermarket, and then compensate with my driving TRUE 7,500 RPM's here I come

you're actually doing a disservice by not visiting the redline at least once in a while. a trip to redline helps get rid of damaging carbon deposits and keeps everything moving properly.
a redline a day keeps the mechanic away.
