i read somewhere on here that the horn is relayed through the computer; is that true and if the horn in my car doesnt work, could that also mean the computer is bad?

would make sense about the no-start problem

horn is a wire from your wheel, to a 12v source to the horns...doesnt, or shouldnt, go thru your ecu, no need for your ecu to know that you are pressing the horn.

you should check for corrosion behind the horn cover, they get cruddy over time and will cause the horn to not work, even replacing the horn with a new one wont work. Take the screws off the steering wheel from the backside, touch the horn wire to metal and see what happens.

take a little steel wool to the brass contacts back there.

in fact there is a TSB for the horns in our car, some had the wire put in the wrong place, causing a metal-metal short because of some fuckup on the assembly line.

first step would be to pull off the steering wheel cover and check the wire.
