I was wondering how high I could safely rev my engine to. I've ready that due to the lack of friction surfaces and other things that plague piston engines, rotaries rev or can rev higher. I'm not looking for superbike revs, but is it safe to take over the 7k redline, at least only occasionally? 88 NA, SE model.

Uhhhhhhhhhhh................. anyone that says there is no limit obviously has never heard of e-shaft flex, or oil starvation..... and the stock ecu has a rev limiter around 8400.

for longevity 7500 is safe and plenty high enough for stock ports...

10,000rpms? Running a bridgeport?

I find it good to shift at 7,000 rpms. Look up a dyno graph on stock ports, and see the power drop off.

I don't have experience in dragging the car or racing, but on the street, the cars power is about 3k-7krpms.

I have the same year and model. I NEED TURBO!! Or a streetport

Thanks...I was worried about the eccentric shaft flexing or snapping due to my idiot antics.

In my T2 I actually shifted at 6,500 while I was playing around with my brother and I felt like I did better than going all the way to 7,000 or even 7,500. I dunno.... o_O
