Well i had my dad call the only place in town that flushes things, and they mainly do tranny coolers. They are an industrial place so they should know their ****. I have heard that there is a thermostat in FC oil coolers, my dad mentioned to they guys at the place to make sure to open the thermostat when the flush my oil cooler, as i told him to say. They said they have never heard of a thermostat being in any type of cooler,, so hmmm wtf? is there one or not

there is one, its that big giant bolt. if the oil stayed clean on your old motor and it didnt die due to an oiling system failure there wont be any crap in the cooler

Take the bolt out and run some kerosine thru the cooler and save yourself $25.

I always flush oil coolers, the boundry layer of muck that builds up impedes heat transfer tremendously, and I prefer my cars not to overheat!
