I am putting a car together for my girlfriend. 1986 13b 2nd gen. Engine is was built by Adam @ rx in Calgary. mild port job, RB under drive pully, turbo housing, RB block off plate for air pump, NA. This is were the problem lies. It does not idle(stalls when put in drive or reverse) will not climb past 6000 rpm and NO POWER. I know all of you are going to say the same thing. Timing or vacum. I will say this to you. I am 99% sure it is not that. I replaced the air flow meter, ECU, throtle sensor, leading and trailing coils, wires, plugs, tested injectors, checked wires, and looked for every vacume line possible. timing is set @ 3 advanced. car still runs bad. need help cause we all know what will happen if I can't get her car running P.S. I the idle contral doesn't do much and the car doesn't rev up when I start it? I will paypal $20 US to the first guy that helps me fix it.

how do you know it has no power when you cant put it in drive or reverse? The problem might be that the signal from the transmission saying that its no longer in neutral is getting loste en route to the engine (or not being created at all... bad transmission sensor, something unplugged etc). Since the rotary doesnt have a whole lot of torque to begin with, once the transmission engages anything besides neutral it could stall the engine if the engine doesnt compensate for the extra load by injecting more gas/oxygen. What does the engine do at 6000 rpm? does it sputter like its trying to go faster, or act like its hitting a rev limiter, or what?

You will have to recheck almost everything.

I'd start with verifying the primary & secondary injector plugs are not switched around.

Then check the fuel pump voltage and the fuel pressure.

Of course this suggestion is free, and worth every penny..
