Sounds like you might have a vaccum line crossed.Check to make sure all the lines are hooked up properly.

When I pulled all my emissions crap off I forgot to hook up a vac. line and the car would still run, it would just idle @ 3000 rpm, and surge up to about 4000. So I don't think that a vac. leak would be your problem.

evereverything was blocked off vorectly with vacum caps. were there were things like acv bac cold start etc i used blockoff plates w/ rtv. no one around here has a T2 so i can't check it against another one. the car ran fine except for the hot start problem and it all looked like crap. this all started as wanting to replace injectors and vacum hoses. i ordered a new afm from someone on the other forum and should have it in the next day or two. then i will hopefully be able to end this whole problem. i know it's not crossed vacum lines as i only have 3 left on the car. one the the fpr on to a splitter that goes to the oil injecters and one to the bov/map sensor.
