I'm looking at RX-7s and this is the only one available that I can find anywhere near me. It's a 1988 N/A, he had the engine rebuilt by East Coast Rotary last November and has put 5000 miles on it since, the miles on the rest of the car is 159k. He replaced the main catalytic converter this spring, the previous owner put new exhaust on it a few years ago, he replaced the engine mounts and transmission mounts when the engine was rebuilt and just put a new battery in it. He just put a new cd player in it and he wants $3200 for it. The problem is it has some rust. It has rust underneath the drivers side window, some on the bottom of the drivers door, some on the left rear wheel well and some on the right rear wheel well and their is a tear in the drivers side carpet (no problem..covered by a mat easy). I have some pictures but I have nowhere to host them so I can't show them. If anyone is serious about helping me decide I can show you the picture through AOL instant messenger, SN oxhadokenxo

I'll try attatching a image in this reply and I live near Hickory, North Carolina (area code 28602). You can see by this picture it appears the driver side mirror is faded and the passenger side is not...Be aware these pictures were taken on a rainy day which makes the paint look more polished of course.

I can't find a way to add more than one pic per post so now I'll add the pictures of the rust spots.

Here is a picture of the car dry with said faded mirror.

He also said that when the engine was rebuilt a "mild street port" was also done.

How well does it run? Does it restart easily after it's fully warmed up? Any leaks? Any smoke? N/A's are pretty easy to find, and $3200 is a little steep, IMHO.

I second the "steepness" of price. It's a nice looking car, but you could easily talk him down a few hundred $$$ if it runs amazingly well give him 2500$, and that's STILL a bit much for an N/A you could get a good running turbo2 for the price he's asking
