posted this in other forums but no helpful answers. my temp. guage is showing the car getting hot. the thermostat is fine. the water pump is fine. the fan is fine. the shroud is on. I flushed it yesterday and thats fine. when the guage gets up real high I feel around the engine compartment and it doesnt feel hot. I see no leaks but it seems to be loosing coolant. it has sucked coolant from the overflow. i think thats about it.

The motor may be burning coolant through a water seal..

Also the stock temperature gauge isn't praised for it's accuracy..

its possible theres air in the system. air around the sensor will make it read "hot" even if the rest of it really isnt.

the pre 89 guages are just as accurate as anthing else. c= 65c/150f (approx) h= 115c/235f (exactly)

thanks. she was rebuilt about 8 months ago so I was worried about it being a seal.
