ok.. I was driving the Vert to my bro's house.. When I got about 2 blocks away.. I noticed the sweet smell of coolant.. So I thought.. I'm Screwed.. Anyways.. i got to my bro's house and checked it ouit.. It happened top be that the hose popped of the angle piece coming off the top of the water pump...

So I put it back on and filled the radiator up.. I turn on the car and after about 5 minutes. I check the temp and it is about 3/4 up.. Usually it never would go past half way.. WTF.. So Anywa7y.. What could it be..? Do I need to check anything else or maybe bleed the air out..? Or might the thermostat have gotten fugged up..?

Hey since we are on the topics of coolant systems. There is something that is bothering me about my car. Now so far nothing is wrong with it, works fine, never overheats or anything like that. although there was one instance where after I changed my oil that annoying buzzer started up (after checking the engine and turning it back on it was gone). But to get to the point, I bought my car shortly after the previous owner had the engine rebuilt. After I purchased the car, had drove it around a lot, and began getting familiar under the hood I noticed that the hose that hose that is connected to the coolant reservoir was not connected to anything. My coolant system is completely closed off. Now I am assuming the hose is supposed to lead to the mount for the radiator cap near the engine block, I can see a place where a nipple would be placed for the hose to connect to, but it looks like the shop rebuilt the engine over looked that small detail. So I am wondering, should connect the hose to the rad. cap mount so the coolant system can access the reservoir, or did the shop know what they were doing and leave it alone. I am concerned because I know these babies run hot and I don't want to make an already insufficient coolant system any worse.

any help would be great

Connect that hose. If you don't you'll get air into the system and it won't work properly.
