Not sure TBH but I'd rather not find out. I wouldn't underestimate it one way or the other - when it's heated it produces Phosgene which is a nerve gas
I heard there was a change over from R12 to R134 between '93 and '94. Does this mean that '93 Rx7s used R12 and '94s used R134?
I tried the R134 quick connect on my low side AC port. It didn't fit and freon shot out for a few seconds. That's the price payed to find out that my '94 Rx7 is an R12 system, which has a smaller fitting. Luckily my brother-in-law owns 5 lbs. of R12. I was under the impression that all '93s of all cars were R12 and all '94s were R134. According to the Pep Boys service manager, the change over from R12 to R134 AC systems was done during '93 to '95. So if your unsure what your A/C system is just check the size of the fitting on the low pressure side. R12 systems have the smaller fitting and R134s have a larger fitting.

I have a question for you guys. My a/c system is completely dry. I have some cans of the "Freeze-12" my buddy bought. I know I have to add oil to the system, what is the mixture? And where the hell do you get the oil additive, and how do you add it??
Im thinking it may just be easier to bite the bullet and take it to an a/c speciality place and have them fill it for me.

I would just get it done, you get the oil from a autoparts store, you measure it out in a container, drop a hose into it and attatch it to system, the system will suck the fluid in when its under pressure.
Locally they get about $185 to do the conversion.
I have to top up about 1 can per year.
