Can I get pulled over for these?

I keep getting pulled over for my headlights being too bright and i swear that its because my alignment is off but the cops always interrogate me if my bulbs are factory or not. Crap, i almost got a ticket for my foglights because he thought I had put them in myself and they werent "factory". So now i'm a bit paranoid that I almost got ticketed for something that the car came with.
H4 bulbs are found in thousands of cars, if you run a legal bulb then you are legal, as far as the aiming goes, I would suggest doing that when you install the new fixtures.

I believe 80/100 is the brightest legal bulb. Pretty much anything you buy at the local parts store will be legal, they don't usually sell illegal lights, it's bad for business.

So youre saying that the bulb doesn't necessarily have to be the same type that came from the "factory" and the cop was just being an *******?

If so then i'd most likely want a pair.

Anotehr quick question, do the stock headlights say sylvania halogen on the front of the glass?

Yea, it all depends on what you bought at the parts store, but the sylvania is a common replacement bulb, save your packaging if the cops are harrassing you that bad. The laws go by wattage, not by the brand.

It's not on the bulbs, its the headlight itself.

Here ya go, tossed out some bulb options as well in case you want to get everything from one place. All are in pairs and without bulbs except for the Hella's, they include bulbs. Pricing came out as expected.

I've never heard that before, all of the laws that I am aware are based on wattage of the bulb, I'll have to check mine, but I don't think they say anything on the lense.

The prior owner of my car put the conversion on. I love the amount of light they put off the only thing that sucks is that it says APC on the headlight.

Of course it is because it's a sealbeam headlamp. MANY cars use sealbeam headlamps, they are interchangeable. The bulb is intergrated into the housing. The BULB WATTAGE is what the law is about, not the lense, just so happens our bulbs are permanently mounted to the lense+housing.

Coverting the H4 acceptable headlamp housings will mean that you separate bulb from housing, so the laws still apply to bulb wattage. Just when you change the light it's the bulb only not the housing.

There aren't any laws on lense+housing as long as they are not tinted housings. As far as aiming goes that's the drivers responsibility not the manufacturers fault.

I ordered a set for my Jeep today, maybe I will actually be able to see out of the ****** at night.

and no, they won't say APC on them. These are manufactured by IPCW and great quality.
