I am considering getting some headers for my '86 n/a, and was just wondering what the fitment would be like, and if there are any other factors to take in mind. Do headers bolt on to the cats, or must there be some fabrication to make them fit...

Thanks,

Eric

the racing beat ones are the same flanges as the cat, but they want you to use their pre silencer which is loner than the cat. so you can

1. use their presilencer

2. get 2 flanges and make a little pipe for the stock cat to fit

3. run open headers

4. do something with muffler tape, zip ties and bailing wire

Is the cat replace pipe/presilencer the same way?

Alright, thanks alot. As for extending the cat, do you know by how much would need to be added, or does it differ between cars?

Thanks,

Eric

the racing beat header gets rid of the manifold and the first two cats and is goes to the main cat. (or is should anyway) but the presilencer is definately the way to go.

One of the biggest things you need to take in consideration is the length of the pipes coming off of the header. Racing Beat, unlike Monza, has header pipes that are the same length, thus keeping the exhaust flow even, or equal, between the two rotors.
