i would say tII if u want a turbo or a gtu if u dont
|
GTU or GTUs is way more rare.
but Turbo II has...well, turbo. it all depends on what your looking for from a car. i love TII's. but i think i would trade mine for a nice GTU right now. |
As I understand it, the GTU is the base model from 89-91, nothing special at all. The GTUs is basically a T2 with an N/A engine and is quite rare. Not sure about the early GTU.
If you're looking for a healthy kick in the pants, nothing but a T2 will do, IMHO. |
if ya find a GTUS dont molest it. if your goin to build up a car get a gtu, t2, or a gxl and molest them.

If you're looking for a healthy kick in the pants, nothing but a T2 will do, IMHO. in another post someone asked if their t2 would run ok without the turbo, and was told not really because the compression was too low (except KompressorLOgic says its the same)? im guessing that mazda messed with compression (not to mention the ecu) just to put turbos on? |
not only is the compression lowered on the t2s there was also a weight differance in the the rotors from s4 to s5 as well. ill have to dig up a chart i got on the weight and compression of each year rotor.

compressions:
s4 TII 8.5 s5 TII 9.0 s4 N/A 9.4 s5 N/A 9.7 GTU is supposed to be lighter. also it comes with some body styling differences. get the TII... plus different designs in manifolds |
hmmm.....yeah i'm contemplating on which one to get....so if i put on a bolt on turbo on a GTU will that be worth it?
