ok. ive been reading threads where people mention dashpots pretty ofter. so can someone tell me where it is, what does it do, and a picture would be most excellent....

i dont have a picture but its round and has a plunger on one end.



its sole purpose in life is to stop the throttle plates from slamming shut and wearing out, the poor little dashpot is quite misunderstood

im not sure about s4, but s5 has 2 of them. I took mine off because they would stick and the second row of butterflies wouldnt open all the way! lame huh? so i said **** it all and too it all off!

Everything he said, and the symtomes are backfiring between shifts, or inconsistant idle(when the dashpot sticks open).
