This is getting on my nerves. Car flooded again today. Only times it ever floods is after sitting for close to or over 10 hours and its very humid or rainy out.

I'm hoping its a sensor or something but I havent bothered looking at any of them yet. Anyone?

I've owned 2 86 RX's that would flood at times and this trick works for me. When you shut the car down rev it up to about 3500 as you turn off the key. Both my cars would flood at times but never since I've started using the rev shut down. Let me know if it works for you.

My FC always had the habit of doing it in the most worst places i could find. Always somewhere i would get made like a fool....gas station, out front of a place with chicks, etc. Never in the driveway or somewhere normal

OK, NOW it flooded after being shut off for only an hour and a half. Engine was still warm without a doubt. I'm completely confused on this one.

Yeah.. my car is flooding too.. wonder what it is.. i will try the 3500 rpm's and see if it works.. wonder if its the injectors or fuel pump? the pull the fuses works for me... to get it going but i get tired of poping the hood every time..if the car sits over night ...the next morning...walla it never misses and cranks right up

wiring in a switch on the fuel pump helps, shut off the fuel pump before you turn off the engine, let it exhaust the fuel in the lines right before you shut it off.

but this really only helps when you've got leaky injectors that flood the engine while it sits after shutting off.

A couple things, A your plugs could be fouled and it is just making it harder to start. Or your injectors could be leaky. Unless you have recently purchased new injectors or had them flowed tested, I would definately recommend getting them flow tested. Oh and you want a bad time for flooding. After I installed my Haltech I went to a 7 meet, the next day. We came back to our town and on the way back my running lights, and interior lights went out. Light switch went retarded, still had my driving lights though thank god. Anyway we get back to my town, and a friend of mine go out to do a little tuning, well we get to driving around, and I have by this time forgetton to put my flashers on. So I get on to a nice road, give it a couple runs then slow down, as I come to an intersection. I start to pull up to the intersection and see a cop behind me. So I'm like ditch the computer dude. We turn and the cop pulls me over. This is also the time when I don't have my power windows hooked up. So cop knocks on the door, I open it and start talking to him. He starts to be an ***, so I act even more civil, finally I give a little lip, and he checks my record, comes back with a warning. Yeah that's right bitch nothing on the record. Anyway after this the guys starts talking about how shitty my car is because I don't have the interior door on, and I don't have lights work, etc etc. And at this point, I am pissed because he is ditching my car. We exchange remarks, and I go to start the car. Well 15 seconds later when I have it started I look in my rear view mirror and can't even see the cops 10ft behind me because there is so much smoke. Literally 60ft high 40 wide. It was great. My buddy just started cracking up and could not stop.
