I just picked up some fuel rail stock, 20 bones for 2 feet. I'll post picks tomorrow. I also have a Aeromotive FPR in the mail. If I relocate the PD doesn't it defeat the purpose of dampening the injectors?

I hear Marren makes a good PD. Any one care to vouch for that? I figure I wont need it right away, as I still have to break in my engine. (More RPM; more pulses) Plus I'm using the stock 4500cc or whatever they are.

1600's would be like the recoil from a shotgun, compared to the 450's .22 rifle recoil https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/ar.gif

nope, because liquids dont compress much, so the damper can be anywhere in the system.

i don't understand? So any where before it gets regulated, before the initial cavitation? i.e. primary injectors in my case

yep, anywhere before the regulator, the pulsations arent really like caviation, its more like the thing your water pipes do when you shut off the water really suddenly. its called a "water hammer", its not exactly like what goes on in the fuel rails, but it should give you an idea. the fuel rails see something more dynamic (imagine you and your buddies turning the water on and off in a bunch of different faucets, several times a second), and harmonic (if you get the frequencies right, then there can be either huge pulsations (+/-10psi) or none at all.

but since liquid doesn't really compress, the damper can be anywhere on the pressure side.

i'm suprised maxt hasnt chimed in, he's done the research

ill_booger 09-06-2007 10:49 PM

Ahh I see, I wanna try that now. Maxt should chime in, curiosity has got me.

Here's the rail, there's a scribe down the mid-line of the stock.

bleh, all the ones available look like crap, everyone just takes fuel rail stock slaps some mounts and fittings on it and says wahlaa theres a sick fuel rail.

only nice rails ive ever seen are the SuperNOW! rails from japan, IF you can find a set of those scoop them up, hard to find, and expensive..... but i love MY set, and i got them for like half their real price :P.

Got a pic or something?

Supernow

They have spherical bearings and all kinds of nifty stuff for our cars.

here's the rail I don't see nothing special about it. Just a hog out.. but I do like those banjo bolts

Funny how those might look cool, but flow like ****. They are using Banjo fittings. Should have known it was typical internet bullshit..
