Does anybody of a company that makes them for FC's? Secondary and/or primary. I've done a whole lot of searching and can't seem to find anything. Never built a universal rail or know what it takes, so I thought it would be smarter to ask first. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif
If ya have knowledge of building a rail, please post. THanx |
I made my own rails for 1600's , I also have stock ones modified for large bosch injectors. What are you trying to do?
|
My regulator went out. So, I figured I would rather omit the old setup and put a re-build able regulator on instead. Which means I need a different rail. All the universal ones I've seen just look like aluminum stock with a hole in it.
Does this mean I have to drill holes and weld in a bung of some sort? Also, if I were to this to my primaries would I still need a pulsation damper? (I would think not) |
Pictures would be helpful too https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif
|
it appears that the base of th extrude is thicker (1/2" or more). Which would be drilled to allow the injectors to be inserted.
|
i had taken a s4 t2 secondary rail , tapped it out for -8 lines and bored the injectors out to fit 1600 cc injectors. but have you tried kg parts or kdr2? i have a s4 s5 kdr2 secondary rail i can sell you, a total trick part that coast me a **** load but ill sell it for $75 plus shipping. shoot me a pm or email.

Thanks. The S4 secondary rail doesn't fit the S5 (failed to state what it was to) I actually found fuel rail stock $12 per foot
EDIT: This is to an NA, so I don't need 1600's |
We make them...

(I would think not) aftermarket rails ARE just stock cut to length with holes in it. and the bracket to let it bolt to the intake. you should keep the pulsation damper, although it doesnt have to be on the rail, it can be anywhere on the pressure side of the fuel system. i guess the subaru's have em remote, and theres an mpv that has the PD with hose nipples too. and theres always aftermarket |
I just picked up some fuel rail stock, 20 bones for 2 feet. I'll post picks tomorrow. I also have a Aeromotive FPR in the mail. If I relocate the PD doesn't it defeat the purpose of dampening the injectors?
|
I hear Marren makes a good PD. Any one care to vouch for that? I figure I wont need it right away, as I still have to break in my engine. (More RPM; more pulses) Plus I'm using the stock 4500cc or whatever they are.
1600's would be like the recoil from a shotgun, compared to the 450's .22 rifle recoil https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/ar.gif |

nope, because liquids dont compress much, so the damper can be anywhere in the system. |

i don't understand? So any where before it gets regulated, before the initial cavitation? i.e. primary injectors in my case |

yep, anywhere before the regulator, the pulsations arent really like caviation, its more like the thing your water pipes do when you shut off the water really suddenly. its called a "water hammer", its not exactly like what goes on in the fuel rails, but it should give you an idea. the fuel rails see something more dynamic (imagine you and your buddies turning the water on and off in a bunch of different faucets, several times a second), and harmonic (if you get the frequencies right, then there can be either huge pulsations (+/-10psi) or none at all. but since liquid doesn't really compress, the damper can be anywhere on the pressure side. i'm suprised maxt hasnt chimed in, he's done the research |
Ahh I see, I wanna try that now. Maxt should chime in, curiosity has got me.
Here's the rail, there's a scribe down the mid-line of the stock. [attachment=42776:IMAGE_495.jpg] [attachment=42777:IMAGE_494.jpg] |
bleh, all the ones available look like crap, everyone just takes fuel rail stock slaps some mounts and fittings on it and says wahlaa theres a sick fuel rail.
only nice rails ive ever seen are the SuperNOW! rails from japan, IF you can find a set of those scoop them up, hard to find, and expensive..... but i love MY set, and i got them for like half their real price :P. kevin. |

Supernow
They have spherical bearings and all kinds of nifty stuff for our cars. here's the rail I don't see nothing special about it. Just a hog out.. but I do like those banjo bolts [attachment=42778:supernow.jpg] |
Funny how those might look cool, but flow like ****. They are using Banjo fittings. Should have known it was typical internet bullshit..
|
I knew that pic was familar. you can buy those rails from www.rbautosports.com
|
$420... no thanks
|
bleh, they only flow like **** if you use banjo fittings, they're AN sizes, you just put in a new AN fitting.
so much better then that generic "look i cut out some fuel rail stock and attached mounts" kevin. |
